Bio: “Mean” Dean Thompson will be starting his seventh year of racing At North Star Speedway, running the SST #16 and the #16 Legend (as funds are available). Dean is a retired Fireman of 20 years, following his dream of becoming a NASCAR driver. Dean bought his first car in 1991 paying $100.00 for a 1970 Pontiac GTO and started racing the Dirt track at Yuma Speedway. He moved back to Anchorage in 1997 to be with family.

The work began again to rebuild the car for asphalt racing. He then started racing again at North Star Speedway in 1999, as an asphalt Rookie. From 2000 thru 2004 he finished each season in the top 5. 2005 was just spent with a lot of hard work.Year after year Dean continues to race, it’s in his blood. Mean Dean is 100% supported by his girlfriend Jeanne, friends and family.
